Where do Ferndale turkeys live during the winter months?

< Previous Page

Unfortunately, Minnesota winters are not conducive to having turkeys on range!  During the spring and autumn months, we need to keep our turkeys close to shelter in case of extreme weather, so our birds live in a turkey house with constant access to the outdoors.  Our outdoor yards exceed the square footage of the buildings, so the birds live in a lower-density environment with access to shelter and warmth if weather requires.  During the winter months, our birds live indoors in houses with sawdust bedding and the ability to roam freely and have constant access to feed, water, and warmth.
